Genesis Trust & Corporate Services Ltd. ("Genesis Trust") was established in 1992 by the partners of KPMG in the Cayman Islands. In 1998 it became a fully licenced trust company regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, which allowed Genesis Trust to offer a comprehensive range of trust and corporate services to its clients. Genesis now provides services to several hundred entities and has become one of the leading firms in the Cayman Islands for yacht and ship registration.

Due to the regulations introduced in 2004 regarding auditor independence, namely the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the SEC regulations in the US, Genesis Trust was forced to break its ties with KPMG. This separation has enabled Genesis Trust to extend the scope of services it offers to include independent directorship services as well as administration of funds.
